About Katherine

Katherine is our lead Veterinary Technician. She grew up in Virginia, raising goats, chickens, and ducks. She graduated from the University of Miami with a master’s degree in marine science and conservation. She worked with a wide variety of exotic animals at a zoo, with a special love for raising baby lemurs and caring for a cockatoo named Bonnie. She then worked for the Frost Science Museum as a raptor rehabilitator, aviculturist, and educator, caring for many species of birds, from eagles and owls to spoonbills.

Katherine has been with GVH for over four years and loves the seacoast community. When she’s not working, she enjoys taking her black Lab, Bella, for walks on the beach and creating unique crafts with her seaside finds!
